Show You Care

My Dad used to say when I was a boy, “Words are cheap.  It’s your actions that matter.”  That stuck with me.  So, the question is what can we do to further love, peace, joy, compassion, and harmony?

Here are a few for your consideration:

Thanking people for serving me in any way — clerks, doctors, nurses, pharmacists.

Letting people ahead of me — in a line, or merging on the freeways.

Thinking before speaking: Is it helpful?  Is it necessary?   Is it kind?

Not getting into needless debates with people who have differing political and social issues.

Seeing people for who they are — children of the Universe — rather than through the lens of gender identity, race, political beliefs, social class, religious beliefs, etc.

Surprising people with cards, notes, and small gifts and not expecting anything in return.

Call people and asking, “How are you doing these days?

Setting clear boundaries in a kind and gentle way.

Staying in my own lane.

Being a good listener.

Not judging people by their outward appearance.

Avoiding gossip and putdowns.

Never saying “I told you so.”

Sharing love, ideas, and kindness whenever I go without expecting anything back.

Not needing external validation or appreciation for what a person does.

Live in honesty and integrity.

Now you add a few more.
